A group of firefighters from Bicester have raised thousands of pounds for a mental health charity after taking on a hike in Wales.

The eight person team from Bicester Fire Station took on the Snowdon Horseshoe Hike, a notoriously challenging route, while dressed in full firefighting kit.

The current total raised for Mind stands at £2,005, but donations can still be made via GoFundMe.

The charity provides advice and support to anyone facing mental health problems.

The route involved four mountain peaks including Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales, as well as grade one scrambling and a high level of exposure on Crib Goch.

The team's journey of 7.5 miles took five hours and 45 minutes to complete.
