A festival is set to return for its annual 10 day celebration of opera and classical this summer.

Waterperry Opera Festival offers productions, concerts, and workshops for opera enthusiasts and beginners.

The event, which was first staged in 2017, will take place from August 9-18 at Waterperry House and Gardens, with tickets going on sale earlier today (April 11) on the festival's website.

Artistic director and CEO, Guy Verrall-Withers, said: "For 2024, we have created an ambitious season of productions.

"With returning favourites and exciting new ventures, our broad programme has something for everyone.

"We are taking artistic risks to create exciting operatic experiences that will captivate the next generation of audiences, as well as delight our loyal followers.

"Waterperry Opera Festival is a place where all are welcome, and we want to make sure there are no barriers to any young person enjoying or engaging with classical music and opera.”

This year's line-up features The Barber of Seville, The Turn of the Screw, Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, Nights Not Spent Alone, Mozart & Mendelssohn Serenades, and the closing event, Last Night of the Opera.

Attendees can also enjoy the Waterperry Garden Centre, the Mediaeval church, the Art-in-Action Art Gallery and the Waterperry Museum.

Concessions are available for under 16s, under 35s, NHS workers, and individuals in receipt of financial benefits and disability allowance.
