A service was held to celebrate 50 years of the Oxfordshire Fire Service.

Rewley Road Fire Station took to Facebook to express their gratitude towards attendees at Rewley Road's joint celebration.

As well as marking the service's 50th anniversary, the service held an annual veterans reunion.

Participants, former firefighters from across the decades, travelled from across the world for the meet up.

According to Rewley Road Fire Station, folks savoured tea and cake while recollecting former times.

The celebration, marked the 50th year since the Oxford City Fire Brigade, Oxfordshire Fire Brigade, and various independent stations merged into the Oxfordshire Fire Service in 1974. There was old and new firefighting gear on display, alongside special Oxfordshire appliances, rare images, and videos.
