Nineteen warnings and one fixed penalty order have been issued in Bicester as part of an initiative targeting anti-social behaviour.

In January, efforts ramped up to tackle antisocial behaviour in Bicester town centre.

Since then, the Cherwell District Council Community Safety Team, collaborating with Thames Valley Police, has intensified patrols.

They have been enforcing the Public Spaces Protection Order put in place across Bicester hotspots.

Officers have been operating dedicated antisocial behaviour patrols in the town centre, complementing routine and night-time patrols.

The Public Spaces Protection Order has been used to exert order and bolster resident safety.

Since January, officers issued a total of 19 Public Space Protection warnings and directions to clear out from the town centre.

Additionally, an instance of Public Spaces Protection Order breach resulted in a fixed penalty.

The Bicester Town Public Spaces Protection Order came into force on June 21, 2022.

It will remain in effect for three years, aiming to ensure long-term resistance to anti-social behaviour.

More anti-social behaviour patrols and operations are being planned to further reinforce this priority.

The community has been encouraged to report any observed anti-social behaviour to the police or reach out to the Community Safety team at Cherwell District Council.

If an individual is asked to leave the area by a police constable, police community support officer, or an authorised officer of the council, they must not return for 24 hours.
