Work on a major redevelopment project at a recreation ground means the reopening a popular splash park will be delayed.

Last March Courtside, the social enterprise behind The Coffee Shed and Premier Tennis, was awarded nearly £700,000 levelling up money from the Government to redevelop sports and leisure facilities at The Leys in Witney.

Oxford Mail: Witney Splash Park reopening delayed

A new wheeled sports park was opened last month by Witney Mayor Owen Collins.

New ramps, rails and obstacles were funded by £100,000 from Witney Town Council and a £57,975 grant from the FCC Communities Foundation.

Witney Town Council posted on Facebook: "Due to alterations required to the splash park's supporting infrastructure, Witney Town Council has postponed the opening from the Easter break and an update on progress will follow."

The popular splash park was forced to shut several times last summer for repair work.
