A rugby club is preparing to host more than 700 players for its annual tournament for under 10s and under 11s.

The third year of Chipping Norton Rugby Club's event, hosted at the club's Greystones base, is set to see more than 60 teams compete, with participants from seven counties including travelling squads from Berkshire.

The event on April 28 will begin with the first under 10s matches kicking-off at 9.30am, followed by a lunchtime prize giving.

The under 11s will then compete in the afternoon.

There will also be a range of food options and entertainment such as music and a rugby-themed inflatable bungee run.

Chipping Norton Minis chair Duncan Midwood said: "Our annual festival is an opportunity for us to celebrate the end of the season in style, and to showcase this wonderful game to the next generation of young players.

"So we would be delighted to welcome any families who want to find out more.

"Funds raised from this year’s festival will be used to develop the club’s infrastructure and facilities, as well as funding equipment and development courses to continue improving coaching for all age groups at the club."

Support for this year's gathering comes from various businesses including Diddly Squat Farm Shop, Brethertons Solicitors, SE Solicitors, Radnor Hills, Bloxham School, Cokethorpe School, QCR Recycling Equipment and Nicholsons.
