A play which will depict the events leading up to the first Easter Sunday is set to entertain at Hinksey Park.
The free Oxford Community Passion Play 2024, starting at noon and 2.30pm on March 30, will involve more than 50 actors, musicians, singers, and backstage crew from across Oxford.
The play has the backing of even churches, The Passion Trust, The Bridge Builders' Trust and the Diocese of Oxford.
Despite the crew being professional theatre makers, all participants are volunteers, drawn from diverse backgrounds, regardless of faith or theatre experience.
If it is raining on the day, the performance will move to St Matthew’s Church on Marlborough Road, which is a short walk from the park.
