Wantage Tennis Club is inviting people to join as members ahead of the new season.

Located in Wantage's Manor Road Park, just five minutes from the town centre, Wantage Lawn Tennis Club offers a host of benefits to its members.

These include free social and match practice sessions where balls are supplied without charge, an online court booking system, and free usage of floodlights for evening play.

The new season starts on April 1, and membership will run until March 31, 2025.

Potential members not ready to commit can "try before you buy" by participating in free play every Thursday evening or Sunday morning.

Additionally, an open weekend for prospective sign-ups is scheduled for June 8 and 9.

Visitors will be able to freely use the facilities, meet the committee and club members, and play a game.

Club coach Andy Aitken and AA Tennis serve the members and wider community, offering various tennis activities and programmes.

Junior students in the termly AA Tennis coaching courses automatically receive club membership.

Manor Road Park also houses Wantage Bowls Club, children's play facilities, and a refurbished Bandstand.

A committee manages the club's functions, while volunteers ensure the premises remain well maintained with monthly Saturday morning work parties.

In addition, annual social events are organised for members to engage beyond the court.

Visit the club's website to sign up.
