A football club near Didcot is planning to demolish its changing and function rooms to make way for a new community centre.

Milton United FC has submitted a planning application to the Vale of White Horse District Council for the "much-needed" building.

The new build would require demolition of the existing pavilion which is used by spectators during match day events at the Milton club.

The existing facility includes a shower and changing rooms, a kitchenette and social rooms among other outbuildings.

A planning statement says: "The building will create new community spaces for social events, meetings and hired private events such as workshops, health and fitness classes and much more.

"The facilities will introduce accessible changing and modern WC facilities with better equipped changing and shower rooms for use by the football club and other sporting groups with a sheltered spectator area to the west.

"The building will also propose an uplift to facilities required during match day events including larger dedicated WC facilities, a lounge bar area, and further accessible areas both internally and externally, all designed to Sport England guidance."

Proposed materials for the build are red brick at lower levels and timber cladding.
