A number of tools were said to have been stolen from two shipping containers at a business in Vale of White Horse under the cover of nightfall last week.

Thames Valley Police South Oxon and Vale of White Horse stated on Tuesday morning that tools were stolen "in an incident near the A415" which runs through Abingdon.

The incident took place between 7pm last Monday evening (February 19) and 10am on Tuesday morning (February 20).

Suspects broke into two shipping containers overnight from which they allegedly stole the tools.

Thames Valley Police has now launched an appeal seeking information that can help them identify the perpetrators. 

If you have any information about the incident, police ask that you contact them on 101 or via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting the incident number 43240081898. 

Alternatively, you can provide information 100 per cent anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers UK. 

Thames Valley Police has issued guidance on reporting suspected crimes to the force. 

This states: "If you’ve witnessed or been the victim of crime please report it to us.

"Reports are dealt with by our control room in exactly the same way whether you report it online or by telephone.

"Before you give us the details of the crime, we will ask you a few questions to make sure you go to the relevant online form."
