Banbury's MP has said the jobs and support fair in the town was a "resounding success".
The fair, organised by Cherwell District Council and the Job Centre Plus, brought together businesses, charities, and support groups aiming to help people find new job opportunities and career paths.
Victoria Prentis interacted with business representatives, charity workers, local authority officers and managers from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Several sectors, including education, care, hospitality and customer services, had representatives present at the event.
Ms Prentis said: “Today’s Jobs and Support Fair in Banbury was a resounding success, with dozens of employers on hand to help those looking for work or to move jobs.”
"The Town Hall was a real hive of activity with lots of familiar faces.
"Brita, Cleenol and Timpson, to name but a few businesses, had stalls showcasing their many opportunities.
She added: "There were lots of brilliant charities present that help people overcome barriers to work and career progression.
"I was pleased to speak to representatives from Hft who support people with learning difficulties, as well as Changing Life who help women who have experienced adversity and trauma and Smart Works who provide clothing for interviews.
"Although we can be proud of our extremely low rate of unemployment in Banbury, it is important that regular jobs fairs are held locally to help people discover the many opportunities available."
