A 47-year-old drink driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 16-months and ordered to pay £445.

Oxford Magistrates' Court heard Roderick Mackenzieok, of Home Close, Wolvercote, was caught by police in Woodstock Road, Oxford, on July 7, with 57mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

Mackenzie, who pleaded guilty to drink driving, told the court he had drunk four lagers, but felt fine to get behind the wheel of his car because he had eaten a large meal.

Alan Lesterok, chairman of the magistrates, banned Mackenzie from driving and fined him £400 as well as ordering him to pay £30 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
