Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen from a house in Shrivenham.

Burglars broke in through a ground-floor living room window of the house in Stainswick Lane between 10am on Friday, July 4, and 8.30pm the following day.

Police only released an appeal for information today.

They stole jewellery thought to be worth about £5,000.

Pc Maria Morrisey, investigating the incident, said "The burglars could have been on foot as they only stole jewellery.

"I urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact me."
