A former British soldier from Bicester has launched a claim for more than £300,000 against the Ministry of Defence.
Paul Boakye, of 5 Birch Road, Ambrosden, says in the claim papers now publicly available at the High Court in London that he suffered from a non-freezing cold injury when he was exposed to dangerous and excessive levels of cold with the British Army while training in Canada.
The High Court papers say this took place between January 21 and August 18, 2019, and they claim that he continued to be exposed to cold when he returned to the UK.

Mr Boakye was downgraded when his condition of non-freezing cold injury was diagnosed in October 2019.
The papers say that because of this condition, and associated psychological injuries, he was then medically discharged from the army on February 23, 2022.
Now he is seeking damages from the MoD of more than £300,000 for his injuries according to the court documents.
