A MAN followed a woman into her room before pinning her to the bed and sexually assaulting her, a court heard yesterday.

Martin Piltz, 23, is accused of attacking the woman before she fled to a bathroom and locked herself in.

Piltz, of Walton Well Road, Jericho, Oxford, denies sexual assault.

At Oxford Crown Court, the woman said Piltz, a German national, had asked her to say his country was the "greatest nation" - which she refused to do - before launching his attack.

She told the jury she was so frightened after the attack she ran to the bathroom and locked herself in. She said: "I was feeling fairly shaken and I just wanted to get out of the room."

The woman, who cannot be named, said she told Piltz three times to stop. She said she escaped when he shifted his weight off her after hearing a noise outside the room.

She admitted not shouting out during the alleged attack because: "I was feeling so tense and my voice just felt like it was stuck in my throat."

She denied claims by David Bright, defending, that she had invited Piltz into where she stayed, that he had spent about 45 minutes there and that he had never asked her to say Germany was the greatest nation.

The woman also denied Mr Bright's claims that she had not wanted to report the alleged attack to police.

The trial continues.
