The Fire Service have shared advice following the appearance of a huge smoke plume amid a barn fire.

Earlier today in Wroxton, near Banbury, residents sighted a large plume of smoke in the air which they reported to the fire department.

A spokesperson for Oxfordshire County Council confirmed the fire involved a barn full of straw.

The Fire Service shared advice on social media: “Our current advice is to close windows and doors if you live in the area and consider turning off air-conditioning.

“Further updates will be added as the situation develops.”

This smoke plume comes not long after another in Yarnton, which residents also reported to the fire service.
