POLICE today appealed for information after burglars barged into a home in North Oxford and locked the householder inside.

At 10am on Wednesday, two men knocked at the front door of the property in Aldrich Road, Cutteslowe, and claimed to be delivering a parcel.

The occupier of the property, a woman, let the men in and they barged past her into the lounge.

The men left the property with the woman's handbag and as they left they took the keys and locked the woman inside and headed in the direction of the Banbury Road.

One of the burglars is white, aged in his mid twenties. He is chubby, clean shaven and was described as having brown stains around his mouth, like he could have been a smoker. He was wearing a brown long sleeved jumper with beige stripes around it.

The second man is white with dark, greasy hair. He is aged in his mid twenties and was wearing a dark knee-length coat and was shorter than the first man.

PC Lisa Heaton said: "I am appealing for information from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area. This type of burglary can leave the victim distressed and we are keen to catch the offenders."
