ABOUT 140 people slept rough to highlight the plight of the city's destitute asylum seekers.
The Oxford Sleep-Out took place in the churchyard at St Mary Magdalen, in Magdalen Street and was inspired by Amnesty International's Still Human Still Here campaign.
Campers included members of Asylum Welcome, Star (Student Action for Refugees), Refugee Resource and other community and student groups.
One of the organisers, Amy Merone, said: "It was brilliant. Lots of people turned out, both to sleep rough and to see the street theatre, poetry and song that was performed through the night. There was a really good atmosphere and we were really pleased that it provoked some good debate."
