A points system for non-EU immigrants? Apparently so. However, a few questions: What gives us the right to purloin, for example, an Indian brain surgeon, probably much-needed at home?

And does the acceptance of such people lead to chain-immigration?

Will it mean the arrival of mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, long-lost cousins and a retinue of wives for us to support?

Will it mean supporting spurious offspring back in the country of origin? Will the benefits (pun intended) outweigh the advantages?

Why, with massive immigration from the EU, particularly Eastern Europe, do we need to allow non-Europeans into Britain? Surely there is enough strain on housing, social services, policing and health?

While we are debating additional immigration, shouldn't we be looking at deporting undesirables?

My formula is simple - any foreign national committing a crime in our country is to be deported, at the conclusion of any custodial sentence, where applicable.

Any rights to asylum are automatically forfeited by the conviction and the person should be returned to their country of origin without regard for the consequences to that person.

You come here seeking asylum - you break the law, you go home and you don't come back, ever.

We Britons are sick and tired of hearing about or being victims of crimes committed by foreigners, many of whom have come here expressly to lead a life of crime and to fleece the welfare system.

Time we closed the doors as far as possible. God alone knows what has happened to the country our fathers fought for.

Those lucky enough to have been buried must be spinning in their graves.
