A pilot was rushed to an Oxford hospital tonight after being freed from the wreckage of his plane which had crashed into woods.
Emergency crews were called out at 5.09pm after the plane crashed into the Great Wytham Woods, at Wytham, near Botley.
The extent of pilot's injuries were not known - although reports suggested he was conscious.
The plane, a PA34 Piper Seneca owned by Kidlington-based company AirMed, had earlier lost contact with air traffic control at Oxford Airport as it was approaching to land.
It was thought to be four miles away from the runway.
