Burglars broke into a chemist's shop early today, fleeing with thousands of pounds worth of stock.

The gang of three - one wearing a motorcycle helmet - pulled up in a red vehicle outside Moss Chemist, in Market Place, at about 1.25am.

They forced their way inside and loaded £4,500 of stock into large containers, then drove away in the direction of Witney.

Officers believe the vehicle could have been a Rover or a Honda.

Sgt Steve Ilott said: "They managed to escape with a selection of perfumes, cosmetics and electrical goods, which are estimated to be worth about £4,500."
