Paramedics were called to the A34 in Oxford this morning following a collision between two cars on the northbound carriageway.
The accident happened at 8.45am, between the Hinksey Hill and Botley interchanges.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance said the extent of the drivers' injuries were not yet known.
The accident caused tailbacks for drivers travelling into Oxford on the Iffley and Botley roads.
