THE FIRST new homes of a ‘ground-breaking’ affordable housing scheme will be ready for occupation from next month.
An initial 11 homes in Long Hanborough, near Witney, are available for socially-rented and shared ownership and will be completed between October and February 2019.
A further 48 homes will follow at the site, while more will be provided on future developments such as Woodstock East.
Priority will be given to local residents and key workers such as teachers and nurses and anyone interested should contact West Oxfordshire District Council.
The site is part of Blenheim Estate's new affordable housing policy in partnership with West Oxfordshire District Council.
Rental properties are available at 60 per cent of market rates, but earlier this month Hanborough district councillor Merilyn Davies criticised the policy as like a 'feudal situation'.
