Remember When - right turn from Cowley Road
'CHAOS' ensued in May 1973 when white lines marking off the right turn from Cowley Road into Divinity Road led to rush-hour road rage.
Talks began about relocating the bus stop due to traffic being held up by buses after the road layout changes.
A spokesman for Oxford City Council said at the time the stretch was 'increasing rapidly' due to people using it as a cross-town route.
In the intervening 45 years, the traffic has only got worse, but it's easy to sympathise with the drivers of 1973.
