THE sun was shining brightly for the biggest fete in Risinghurst’s calender as visitors descended onto the playing fields in community spirit to join in with festivities.

Dancers, musicians and young performers joined the line-up of entertainment to flaunt their talent at the annual Risinghurst fete and picnic on Sunday.

Youngsters and the young hearted jumped onto thrilling fun fair rides during the afternoon celebrations, before cooling off with an ice-cream and decorating their faces with brightly coloured face paint.

Traders boasting foodie favourites like fish and chips and barbecue treats were also on hand to tempt the tastebuds.

Locally-brewed beers and Mr Ghandi’s ‘99p’ wine joined the array of stalls hosted by local sellers and groups.

Dogs jumped through hoops at the call of their young owners and the circle of crowds watched other entertainers who arrived with owls and violins, adding to the buzz at the big family day out.
