FOR those who have had their fill of chocolate coins and eggs today the remaining goodies can be used to purchase tickets from Chiltern Railways' new ticket vending machines.
Chiltern recently invested £2m in a project to replace the ticket vending technology at all stations on its network, with new machines already installed at most locations.
The Apollo IRF technology makes its debut today and customers wishing to travel are required to print off a voucher code from the new Chiltern website to validate travel.
Alan Riley, customer services director at Chiltern Railways, said: “We put our customers at the heart of everything we do, so we altered our machines for Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 to help customers who might have had their fill of sweet treats.
"We decided to wait until April to unveil the new feature, to make it an extra special Easter treat.”
The new machines are faster and easier to use, with bigger screens and contactless payment facilities.
They are also wheelchair accessible with a screen that can be lowered to accommodate wheelchair users.
The project is part of Chiltern’s 2018 Continuous Improvement Plan, which also includes a £1.5 million investment in on-station improvements like waiting and customer facilities, as well as on-train enhancements.
Customers wishing to utilise the Apollo IRF technology on Easter Sunday can downloaded their special voucher code from chilternrailways.co.uk/news/chiltern-Apollo-IRF-technology.
