ANTI-Brexit campaigners will hold another event in Oxford this week, marking the anniversary of the Government's notification of the UK's intention to leave the EU.

Oxford for Europe said it intended to use a talk by two high profile anti-Brexit figures to hold an event on Friday morning from 11.15am.

The protest will follow a book launch with two high profile anti-Brexit figures, Lord Andrew Adonis and Will Hutton.

The launch for their forthcoming book, Saving Britain: What Europe Does For Us and How to Keep the Best of It, will be held on Friday at the Sheldonian Theatre.

Oxford For Europe's event will follow that, with Lord Adonis and Mr Hutton set to make appearances.

Lord Adonis was the chairman of the National Infrastructure Commission before he resigned to campaign against Brexit, while Mr Hutton is the principal of Hertford College, Oxford and a columnist for the Observer. He was previously its editor and editor-in-chief.

Other speakers are set to include Will Dry, an Oxford student and co-founder of the Our Future, Our Choice (OFOC) group. Initially a Leave voter, he has now changed his mind on the subject.

The group previously organised a controversial event in the city attended by Hollywood actor Sir Patrick Stewart which the county council said could not stop in Broad Street. It eventually took place in Bonn Square on February 27.
