'The Beast from the East' has struck as the first flurry of snow has scattered the county.
Households have braced themselves for freezing weather after the cold snap from Russia dubbed 'the Beast from the East' was said to be bringing temperatures down as low as minus 7C this week.
A yellow Met Office warning for snow has been issued for this week expected to cover the county from Wednesday, but the first flurry of snow has fallen on Oxfordshire this afternoon.
In Oxford, temperatures are expected to drop to minus 3C tonight before falling further to minus 4C tomorrow and Wednesday.
Predictions say there is a 60 per cent chance of snow in Oxford Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Thames Valley Police have warned drivers of road conditions as temperatures drop tonight.
Please take extra care when travelling home this evening ❄️❄️#uksnow https://t.co/kquyCk9m9Y
