MONDAY UPDATE - The 'Beast from the East' - how cold will it get this week?
Snow has been forecast across the county this week as the cold snap gets under way.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow for Tuesday as temperatures look set to plummet as low as minus 4C in Oxford.
Benson, frequently the coldest place in the country, could even go as low as minus 7C.
Tomorrow will also see temperatures around minus 3C and it will remain cold throughout the week.
The Met Office's chief forecaster said: "Snow showers or longer periods of snow are expected on Tuesday, accompanied by very low temperatures.
"There is the potential for travel delays on roads, with some stranded vehicles and passengers, as well as delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.
"Some rural communities could become cut off.
"Power cuts may also occur and other services, such as mobile phones, may be affected."
