SMALL Oxfordshire businesses have been invited to a workshop on how to improve their green credentials.

The Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) has teamed up with Oxford's Saïd Business School to run the event on Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Turning Over a New Leaf session will be held at the business school's branch at Egrove Park in Kennington on Thursday, January 25.

Organisers have promised world-class advice from leaders in CSR including Mike Barry, 'head of plan A' at Marks & Spencer, and Simon Eves, head of sustainability at Panasonic.

The wildlife trust’s director of external affairs, Tom Beckett, said: "A healthy natural environment is fundamental to all our lives and businesses.

"Clean water, natural flood defences, carbon sequestration, good air quality, healthy soils producing nourishing food, a sustainable supply of raw materials and beautiful places to live and work, are all benefits from nature that is in decline.

"Turning Over a New Leaf – Improving Approaches to Corporate Social Responsibility in 2018 is a free networking event for enthusiastic people who value ethical and environmental issues and are keen to offset their impacts on the local natural environments by creating effective CSR programmes."

He added: "Just spending time in natural environments can improve people’s mental and physical wellbeing and can really improve productivity.

"It’s all part of doing business responsibly."

The event will run from 2pm to 5pm. To book a place visit bbowt.org.uk/events
