RAILWAY engineers are working throughout the Christmas period to upgrade the tracks in and around Oxford.
Staff from Network Rail worked on the railway all day and all night on Christmas Day in an effort to install new signals.
They were visited by Network Rail chief executive Mark Carne on Christmas morning.
No Great Western Railway trains are running on Boxing Day as the engineering works continue.
There will also be no trains to or from London Paddington from Oxford tomorrow.
Chiltern Rail services are running from Oxford Parkway station to London Marylebone until 8pm today.
The company is running a Saturday service tomorrow and is putting on extra carriages in anticipation of increased demand.
