CHRISTMAS in Witney will officially start at 6pm on Friday when the lights are switched on by the Town Mayor, who will also be joined by two youngsters from Witney Interact Cub.
This year’s event has been organised by the Rotary Club of Witney with financial help from the Town Council, the Blue Boar pub and Sportif Suzuki.
The whole event will include live music, a BBQ, Hatwell’s Fun Fair and stalls.
Father Christmas will be there and has told us that he is looking forward to meeting children young and old.
Dion Hickin, President of the Rotary Club said: “This is will be great event for all the family. I am very grateful to all those who have been involved with the organisation and to those who have helped financially.
“We are also very grateful for the support we have from the Shake Shop, Hayter’s, Cotswold Stone and UBICO.
“We are looking forward to music from the Madley Brook Choir, the Wood Green Jazz Band, WOAPA and Derek West.”
The whole event will be focused around the Witney Centre in Market Square and is free to attend.
