SHOULD it be illegal to run a red light in the middle of the night on an empty road?
The head-scratcher is just one of a set of interview questions released by Oxford University ahead of its undergraduate application deadline tomorrow.
Dr Samina Khan, director of admissions and outreach, said the aim was not to test what candidates already know but how they think.
She added: "Every question asked by our tutors has a purpose, and that purpose is to assess how students respond to new information or unfamiliar ideas."
