BREAKING news: Oxford University is going to attempt to break a very egg-citing world record.
This Friday, on World Egg Day, staff and students at Exeter College will attempt to set a new record for 'the most people dipping egg soldiers simultaneously'.
The number to beat is 178, and Exeter College has invited the whole city to come and help it crack that. As an added incentive, the first 200 people turning up will get a £5 Tesco voucher and a celebration egg cup to mark the occasion – not to mention their free egg breakfast.
Mark Williams, chief executive of the British Egg Industry Council, said: "Eggs are a favourite part of breakfast and what better way to mark British Egg Week than a huge celebratory breakfast in this beautiful, historic British city.
"We hope the people of Oxford will join us to make it a day to remember.”
