DRIVERS queued for miles following a five-vehicle crash on the A34.
One lane had been blocked northbound near the Peartree Interchange during Thursday's evening rush hour.
Rush hour traffic started to back up beyond the Botley Interchange, with patchy queues stretching to the Kennington Roundabout.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Jack Abell said they had been called to the incident just after 4.30pm.
He added: "Thames Valley Police officers were called today at 4.28pm following reports of a collision involving five vehicles on the A34, Kidlington.
"Officers are at the scene along with the ambulance service while the vehicles are recovered.
"Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible."
