STAFF and customers at Tesco Metro in East Oxford will today celebrate the store’s 50th birthday.
Service manager Michelle Witts, who has worked at the Cowley Road branch since she left school in 1985, will lead the celebrations.
Staff regularly volunteer for charity projects including helping Ma Smith’s soup kitchen for the homeless and food banks.
They also support the Cowley Road Carnival and pack bags for different charities.
Pupils from local schools are being invited to the anniversary party, which starts at 2pm.
Customers and former staff will be offered a slice of birthday cake as they reminisce about the store’s history.
