DISCOVER the story of India and Pakistan's artists after1947 by visiting the Ashmolean's new exhibition.
Following the end of British rule the two countries' local artists faced a challenge to express the new nations’ distinctive character and visions.
Artists sought new modes of expression, drawn to the modern European art movements but remaining oriented toward their own traditions.
The exhibition launches on Friday and will run until March 2018.
