Eagle-eyed fans spotted a sleuth with a limp and a tragic love life in Oxford once more as filming resumed for another series of Endeavour.

Shooting took place in Merton Street and Merton College this afternoon.

Those fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of the filming saw Shaun Evans, who plays a young Inspector Morse, shoot alongside a female co-star.

One of them was 10-year-old Erika Moss from Kidlington, who managed to snap a selfie with the star.

The Edward Feild Primary School pupil said: "He was really nice.

"He asked 'do you want me to take a picture?' and I said yes.

"Mum and Dad watch it and because Mum was working Dad said to go and get a picture.

"We watched him filming with a lady near the gates to the park near Merton College.

"We had to keep back because there were lots of cars going past"

The series follows Morse in his early career in Oxford in the 1960s.

The character was created by Oxford author Colin Dexter, who died in March this year, and was played by John Thaw in the original Inspector Morse.

Lily managed to video Mr Evans walking through the city's streets.
