POLICE are investigating a possible arson after fires broke out at both Windrush Tower and Evenlode Tower in Blackbird Leys.
The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday morning.
It is understood that in both cases the bin sheds caught fire.
Linda Smith, who represents Blackbird Leys on Oxford City Council, said this morning: "It's being treated as a crime scene. There are forensics fdown there, and police, and the fire brigade investigations unit.
"It's really lucky that the damage was limited and the sprinkler system kicked in."
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue was called to the scene at about 4am.
Fire engines from Rewley Road, the Slade, Abingdon and Wheatley attended to deal with the fires.
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Hannah Jones said: "TVP was called at around 4am today to reports of fires being started in bin stores near blocks of flats in Knights Road and Blackbird Leys Road, Oxford.
"Officers are investigating the incidents and are treating them as suspected arson with intent to endanger life.
"Anyone with any information should call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
