A MAN who was attacked in Oxford city centre died from a head injury Oxford Coroner's court has confirmed.

At a pre inquest review into the death of Eamonn Anderson, of Slater Close, Oxfordshire coroner Darren Salter confirmed the post-mortem results following the attack on the 56-year-old on October 25.

He was assaulted and kicked off his bike in High Street, Oxford, and as a result he was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious head injuries.

He later died on Friday, November 11, from such injuries.

A full inquest is yet to be held while police continue to investigate the suspected murder of Mr Anderson, a reformed bank robber who previously spent more than 24 years of his life behind bars for armed robbery and firearms offences.

Coroner Mr Salter said another pre inquest review will be held in two months, unless police make headway with their murder investigation.

Iman St Clair, 18, of Kestrel Crescent, has been charged with Mr Anderson's murder and is expected to face trial on June 12.

In December the 18-year-old pleaded not guilty to the charge at Oxford Crown Court .
