MORE than 20 million people in Britain are lazy and so risk an early death, according to a study.
A study by the British Heart Foundation has found that the lack of physical activity costs the NHS £1.2bn a year.
The shock report shows that physical inactivity is high among people who have gone on to suffer heart disease.
Health officials suggest adults complete at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity such as cycling or fast walking each week.
They should also do strength exercises two days a week — but 39 per cent fail to meet the targets.
How much exercise do you do? Could you be doing more?
More than £1m has been poured into creating 'healthy towns' in Bicester and Barton.
Fast-food free zones and "dementia-friendly" streets and a focus on community areas and sports pitches are all planned for the two towns.
