MP for Witney Robert Courts is continuing in his mission to visit all 81 parishes in West Oxfordshire.

The last stop on the tour was Chipping Norton, where Mr Courts spoke to the town council about concerns over the future of healthcare.

Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group recently launched phase one of its public consultation on the future of healthcare in Oxfordshire - with a second phase to start later this year looking at maternity services at Chipping Norton Hospital.

As well as health, Mr Courts also discussed infrastructure with the town council.

Mr Courts, who was elected last October, said: “Healthcare is the hot topic in Chipping Norton currently. I will continue to do all I can to push for the public to have a greater say on this important issue.

“Infrastructure, particularly regarding transport, is something which all of West Oxfordshire is concerned about. It is such a key issue in our rural area, and I will continue to work hard for constituents to be able to get to where they need to be.

“Since being elected, my constituency days have regularly brought me to Chippy, visiting the theatre and meeting with Experience Chipping Norton.

“There is so much to be proud of in this town, and I greatly enjoyed the chance to discuss things in person with the Town Council.

“I look forward to continuing with my tour and really getting the chance to understand the particular issues and concerns for each community”.

Previously, Mr Courts visited Freeland Parish Council and Taynton Parish Meeting to discuss important issues in their respective villages.
