A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a bus in Headington.

Thames Valley Police said it happened at about 12.10pm in London Road, near the junction with Latimer Road.

The force had earlier advised motorists to avoid the area but traffic reports say it is now clear.

South Central Ambulance Service said the man had serious injuries to his head and leg but they were not thought to be life-threatening.

Spokesman David Gallagher added: "He has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford."
