TWO men escaped with several hundred pounds in cash following an armed robbery at the Ladbrokes in Rose Hill last night.

The men entered the betting shop at around 9.10pm and threatened the staff with a knife as one man stood at the door while another went through the till.

They stole several hundred pounds in cash, but the two male members of staff at the shop were not harmed.

One man is described as around 6ft tall, large build and broad. He was wearing a jacket with the hood up and his face covered.

The other is around 5ft 8ins tall, medium build and was wearing a hooded top with a dark balaclava and blue tracksuit bottoms. It is believed that both men were black.

Det Insp Simon Morton, investigating the robbery, said: "We believe the men left on foot and you may have seen them running from the area. If you have any information then please contact me immediately."
