The stand-in chairman of Blackbird Leys Parish Council has urged as many people as possible to attend its next meeting.
City councillor Lee Cole said the area needed eight new councillors - and he hoped people from all parts of the community would stand for the positions.
He particularly wants younger people to get involved - as the parish council has an average age in its 50s.
The meeting takes place tomorrow night at the Blackbird Leys Community Centre, at 7pm.
Among items to be discussed is a cash pot of £45,000 the council has in its coffers to spend on community initiatives.
