The Malmaison Hotel in Oxford is expected to reopen on Friday after a fire destroyed the historic former prison's electricity supply.
The blaze started on Monday, June 11, gutted an electrical room on the second floor and smoke spread to other parts of the hotel.
Firefighters arrived in New Road within three minutes and were able to stop the fire spreading, as staff and guests were evacuated.
The hotel had been expected to reopen today but regional manager Mike Warren said staff were now preparing to open on Friday.
He said: "We are extremely confident that we will be able to reopen on Friday - guest are booked in and our team is working hard to make sure we can reopen on the day."
