A woman cyclist is in hospital with life threatening injuries after a crash with a van last week.

At around 11.45am on Friday the 79-year old was cycling along Common Road, North Leigh, near Witney, when she struck the stationary grey Ford Transit Van.

She was rushed to the John Radcliffe Hospital where she remains with injuries described as 'life threatening.'

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for information following the serious road traffic collision.

Investigating Officer, PC Sandra Terry of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said "I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has any information about the collision, even if you think it might be insignificant, to come forward.
