POLICE raided a bed and breakfast in Oxford this morning.
Officers stormed Star B&B in Gloucester Street - opposite the Red Lion Pub - at about 10am.
The force said the raid was the result of an arrest yesterday, in which a 28-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of raping a 16-year-old girl.
He has since been bailed until January 4 2017.
Detectives said a serious sexual assault took place between October 11 and October 13.
Another man was also arrested in the raid on suspicion of immigration offences today after the raid.
Det Insp Jim Holmes said: "We executed the warrant this morning as part of this ongoing investigation.
"The victim is being safeguarded and we have been working with other agencies throughout this investigation.
"Specially trained officers are providing ongoing support to the teenage victim."
A number of police cars and vans were parked in George Street.
Forensic officers arrived and entered the three-storey building, which is owned by Oxford City Council.
Neighbours of the B&B said they were 'shocked' by the raid, but did not know what had happened.
