HEADINGTON'S latest eatery opened its door for a grand opening event on Tuesday, the fourth store launch in a month for the area.

C.R.A.F.T. Burger launched at Windmill Road at midday and follows one month after another restaurant - Italian Buongiorno e Buonasera opened at London Road.

Two stores have also opened up at London Road - Savers Health and Beauty and Oxford Vapours.

Speaking on Tuesday restaurant manager Rob Davies, aged 30, said that the launch event had been a success so far and that there had been a steady stream of customers throughout the day.

He said: "We are all super psyched to be here. Everybody is really excited to get on the Headington scene.

"For us we saw there was a big demand for a burger restaurant in Headington and no one else really caters for the hand craft beers and burgers here."

The restaurant specialises in serving craft beers and gourmet burgers and took over the site of the former Dong Restaurant.

The flurry of new eateries and shops for the area led to Headington councillor Ruth Wilkinson declaring a "shopping revival" for the area last week.

She said: "It's great to see more businesses opening in Headington. No-one wants to see boarded up shop fronts in the centre.

"Headington's Saturday Market has been re-launched as well with some new stallholders so it feels like our much wanted shopping revival is here at last."
