THESE are the two men wanted by police investigating the abduction and rape of a 14-year-old schoolgirl.

Two weeks since the teenager was snatched as she was walking near the Banbury Road junction with Marston Ferry Road in Oxford, detectives have released two e-fit images of the suspects.

Police said the girl was taken between 8.15am and 8.40am by two men in what is believed to be a silver VW hatchback.

She was found knocking doors in Cavendish Drive, Marston later the same day and detectives have been searching for the attackers since.

Oxford Mail:

Officers say the first suspect has shaven dark blonde balding hair, no facial hair, is in his mid 20s and has blue eyes.

He is thought to be about 6ft and has a northern accent.

He was wearing a hooded top with one pocket on the front with no logo, and black trousers.

The second man thought to be in his teens has brown hair that was gelled and is of slightly muscular build. He was wearing black clothing.

In his latest appeal to the public yesterday, Detective Superintendent Chris Ward said the force wanted to speak to the two men in connection with the attack.

The head of the major crime unit at Thames Valley Police added: "We would ask anyone who recognises these suspects from these e-fits to contact 101 quoting the reference 1631 (28/9).

"A team of specially-trained officers continues to support the victim and we are working with her to gather further information surrounding the incident."

Increased patrols are set to continue by neighbourhood police officers in the area and the force has not ruled out a link with an earlier sexual assault on a women in Cuckoo Lane, Headington

John Howson, Oxfordshire County Councillor for St Margaret's ward offered his support to schools in the area for assistance.

He added: "I hope someone sees these e-fit images and recognises the men. Someone must know who they are.

"It would not be surprising if they were from the Oxford area. I'm delighted there have been an increased police presence during this worrying time for people."

Detectives have received more than 260 calls from the public and said they remain focused on gathering evidence in the Summertown and Marston areas.

An investigation team of 30 officers is sifting through CCTV from the area, as well as head and dash camera footage handed in by members of the community.

The force is also working closely with officers from the National Crime Agency to get support and advice.

Jean Fooks, Oxfordshire County Councillor for Summertown, said some residents had been driving their children to school since the abduction.

She added: "It's good that people are aware of these dreadful people who have to be caught.

"Please, anyone who recognises these men, report it to the police.

"People are still very worried and I understand it's taken the police a long time. The poor girl is needing a lot of support in order to talk about it all.

"Now they are getting a clearer picture. The most important thing is that they are caught."
